Religious Education

ALL CHILDREN between the ages of 4 and 10 are WELCOME! to join our Funday School Program.  On most Sundays during the school year, we hold classes  at the same time as our Sunday Services.   Children attend the opening of the service.  A few minutes into the service, the minister calls the children forward for a special message, after which the children leave with their teacher to attend that week’s Funday School activity.  After service is over, children gather again with the full congregation to enjoy some refreshments during Fellowship Hour, which follows the service each week.

Classes will resume on Sunday, September 17.  Registration will take place on Sunday, September 10.  Children are welcomed to register and join the classes at any point during the year.

Parents may call or email the church office  to have a registration form sent to them, or stop by the church on Sunday between 11:00 and 11:30 A.M. to pick up a form.

The 2017-2018 Curriculum will be We Believe – Learning and Living Our Unitarian Universalist Principles.

Last Spring the children, using a curriculum called “Hide and Seek with God”, explored the beginnings of a religious language for talking about God through stories like “ The One Great Web of Life”, “Being with God in Prayer”, and Things God Made for Joy”.  Classes began this fall with a review of last Spring’s lessons and then continued with the God theme through more stories and crafts. There are be breaks in the curriculum to celebrate the holidays and their meanings within religion, but also in a more secular way.
